JOB PURPOSE:

The qualified individual is committed to fulfilling Rock County Christian School's mission within our community of students and families. This staff position reports to the School Administrator (Head of School). The bookkeeper shall perform a variety of accounting duties for the efficient functioning of school operations

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

The bookkeeper provides the following accounting functions:

Monthly Financials
General Ledger Audit
Journal Entries
Bank Reconciliation and Credit Card Reconciliation
Full Reporting
Job cost tracking
Payroll recording
Cash receipts recording and monthly reconciliation of accounts receivable
Posting of payments and accounts payable and monthly reconciliation of account
Assists with Choice student enrollment

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

Communicate working hours with the Administrator
Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by
treating others with friendliness, dignity, and consideration.
Report any suspected child abuse to the School Administrator
immediately.
Be able to use and troubleshoot office equipment, including telephones, computers, printers, and copy machines.
Provide input and constructive recommendations for school operations. Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the School Administrator

Be a member in good standing at an evangelical church that has a Statement of Faith in agreement with the RCCS Statement of Faith; Show by example the importance of Scripture study and memorization, prayer, witnessing, and unity in the Body of Christ;
Have the Spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to "train up a child in the way he should go.
Exhibit patience and positive attitudes in establishing an encouraging learning environment Is discreet, trustworthy, and a Matthew 18:15-17 practitioner.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work environment at RCCS is one typically found in an office setting. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

The employee must have the ability to:

Sit and stand for extended periods of time;
Lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Exhibit manual dexterity to enter data into a computer;

See and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids;
Stand, reach, balance, stoop, kneel

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Minimum of 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience.

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Associate or Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting or in a related area;
Must be proficient in all QuickBooks software programs and Excel

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:

The Bookkeeper shall conduct the Services in accordance with generally accepted bookkeeping and accounting practices and comply with all federal and state laws or regulations. Bookkeeper hereby agrees that they shall follow the highest professional standards in performing all Services to be provided under this Agreement. Confidentiality The Bookkeeper, in the course of performing the Services hereunder, may gain access to certain confidential or proprietary information of the school. Such confidential information shall include all information concerning the business, affairs, products, marketing, systems, technology, customers, end-users, financial affairs, accounting, statistical data belonging to the school and any data, documents, discussion, or other information developed by Bookkeeper hereunder and any other proprietary and trade secret information of school whether in oral, graphic, written, electronic or machine-readable form. The Bookkeeper agrees to hold all such confidential information of the school in strict confidence and shall not, without the express prior written permission of the school, (a) disclose such confidential information to third parties; or (b) use such confidential information for any purposes whatsoever, other than the performance of their obligations hereunder. The obligations under this Section shall survive termination or expiration of this Agreement.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
