Are you detail-oriented and passionate about making a difference in healthcare? Penn Medicine at Home is looking for a dedicated Insurance Verification Representative to join our Core Unit team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring our patients receive the care they need by managing insurance information and authorizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with CORE Nurses: Work closely with our nursing team to ensure timely communication of insurance authorization information to Managed Care Companies.
- Follow Up on Authorizations: Proactively follow up with managed care companies to secure timely receipt of insurance authorizations.
- Data Management: Enter insurance authorizations into our system as they are received, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Authorization Management: Process all concurrent Authorization Management information and requests in an organized and timely manner.
- Insurance Validation: Validate insurance coverage for all existing patients weekly to ensure no changes in coverage or carriers.
- Streamlined Workflow: Utilize department processes and tools to manage clinical reviews and work collaboratively with department nurses.
- Effective Communication: Keep CORE unit managers, staff, and clinical team managers informed about missing documentation and authorization statuses.
- Documentation: Document all interactions with patients, families, and payers in our computer system.
- Report Distribution: Print and distribute reports as assigned to managers and department staff.
- Patient Financial Communication: Communicate and document all patient financial risks and responsibilities to the patient, billing coordinator, and clinical team in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED required. An Associate's degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of admissions or insurance experience in a home care and/or hospice setting required.
