Summary:
Under the direct supervision of Registered Pharmacists, the Pharmacy Technician I helps to support the basic general operations of the inpatient pharmacies. Daily tasks may include but not limited to: preparing and filling of medication orders and medication carts, delivering and distributing medications throughout the hospital, maintaining stock levels in all areas of the hospital, performing functions within the pharmacy automation systems, and general upkeep and maintenance of the inpatient pharmacy locations. A Pharmacy Technician I works to accurately and efficiently complete expectations of assigned shifts and follow outlined standard operating procedures and workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately fill and prepare medication orders for distribution to patients and patient care areas
- Maintain medication inventory, rotating stock regularly and checking for expired medications
- Deliver medications appropriately to designated areas based on medication storage requirements.
- Maintains competence in all department policies and standards of practice and complies with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations
- Collaborates with other pharmacy staff members to provide high quality pharmacy services
- Manage multiple priorities and adapts to complete all duties of assigned shifts
Credentials:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is required.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- Previous experience is preferred.
