Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Lab Courier is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transport of laboratory specimens and other scheduled deliveries. The role requires accurate record-keeping, strict adherence to confidentiality and safety protocols, and consistent demonstration of excellent customer service.
Key duties include maintaining a clean vehicle, completing daily checklists and logs, promptly reporting delays, and using communication equipment professionally. The courier must represent Loyola Medicine with courtesy and professionalism while supporting its safety and performance standards.
Shift- 11am - 7:30pm.

Position Requirements:
Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read maps and a good knowledge of Chicagoland area.
CPR preferred or must complete an adult CPR class within six months of employment.
Minimum Work Experience: Recent experience in transporting of lab specimens is preferred. Contact with Others: Excellent ability to communicate with allied health personnel.
Analytical Demands: Problem solving skills necessary to be able to prioritize assignments and make decisions accordingly relating to assignment.
Clean motor vehicle record
Working Conditions:
Physical Effort: Physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds. Climbing stairs, pushing, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching when needed.
Compensation:
Pay Range: $15.66 - $21.10 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
