ResponsibilitiesOrthopedic Surgery seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Orthopedic Hand Surgery team. The NP or PA assists the assigned staff consultant, fellow/senior resident in all aspects of patient care. This position will offer the unique ability within the orthopedic hand surgery division to be involved in caring for and treating Brachial Plexus, Congenital Hand, and Pediatric Hand fracture patients.
This position involves practice in the clinical setting, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care. Patient care in the operating room and surgical assisting is expected. Hospital rounds may be required by the assigned service. Opportunities to cover other orthopedic subspecialty services when the primary consultant is away or assigned to other non-clinical activities. Potential to participate in research and publications depending on the assigned service and the needs of the Department.
QualificationsNurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN and APRN license and certification as a
- Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
Registration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is required. BLS is required
