Scope:
The Referral Triage RN utilizes the nursing process by applying appropriate nursing interventions, conducting evaluations with critical thinking, promoting patient advocacy, coordinating nursing and other health services while supporting evidence-based practices.

- Shift Details: Full time (40 budgeted hours). M-F 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (or 8-4 potentially)
- Unit/Location: Located at Riverton Oncology Clinic, but also potentially LDS hospital as well.
- Preferred Qualifications: RN experience in Hematology or Oncology preferred.
Essential Functions
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate referrals of patients to determine patient acuity and need.
- Triage incoming referrals to multiple medical specialties to ensure urgent patients are scheduled appropriately.
- Work with multiple clinics, providers and caregivers to ensure optimal care of patients.
- Spend time in clinic and some virtual work.

Minimum Qualifications
- Current RN Licensure in state of practice
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer skills
- Good critical thinking skills
- Good assessment skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to determine patient status from patient history, lab work, imaging results
- RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
- Experience within hiring specialty
- Outpatient clinical experience
- 5 years clinical experience

- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement . Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
