Job Description:
The CE Medical Equipment Technology Specialist is responsible for providing analysis and support for the development of standardized strategies and process for medical equipment integration, networking, cybersecurity, and remote access. This position assists in the evaluation and support of new and existing medical equipment to ensure safe connection to the hospital network, the private and secure transmission of data, and the detection/response to medical equipment threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
Job Essentials
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with digital technology services (DTS) and DTS cybersecurity.
- Knowledgeable in the standard processes involving compliance, risk, legal, and the Supply Chain.
- Subject matter expert in use of the computerized maintenance management system for equipment documentation and medical equipment management standards.
- Tracks, maintains, and communicates medical equipment performance monitoring in relation to cybersecurity, networked devices, and other meaningful metrics.
- Coordinate and assist with medical equipment risk mitigation and all remediation issues.
- Conducts facility rounding with CE, DTS, and clinical caregivers at the site level.
- Assist with medical equipment network systems design, architecture, and management.
- Maintains and presents medical equipment security, networking, and data transfer content.
- Implements best practice for medical equipment standards using continuous improvement principles.
- Intermediate knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to medical equipment management.

Minimum Qualifications
- Five years of work experience in CE, Information Systems, or technology related field required.
- Two years of experience in a role involving information systems/security technologies required.
- Technical working knowledge of medical equipment function, networking, and integration required.
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical/clinical engineering, Information Systems, or related technology field is preferred. Degree must be obtained from an accredited institution and education will be verified.
- Previous experience managing medical equipment networks and cybersecurity is preferred.

- Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
- May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs when the leader takes clinical shifts.
- For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing, and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$33.75 - $53.16
