Position Description:
Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Physicians Surgical Group seeks a motivated and skilled Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join their dynamic, multispecialty, surgical practice of 15 surgeons and 8 Advanced Practice Providers. Our team provides excellent, patient centered care for vascular surgery, general surgery, and colorectal surgery patients.
This position will be primarily vascular surgery but will provide some cross coverage for general/colorectal surgery. The APP will be an integral part of the surgery team and will provide comprehensive care for patients with vascular conditions. This will include perioperative management, inpatient rounding, outpatient clinic and assisting in the operating room.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of surgeons, residents and APP’s. Our 5 skilled and dedicated vascular surgeons perform a wide range of procedures including but not limited to endovascular procedures, dialysis access procedures, peripheral arterial bypass surgery, amputations and endarterectomies.
Hours: Full-time (1.0 FTE) position with hours generally falling between 7:00am – 5:30pm. The APP will rotate weekend coverage from 7am-3:30pm on a 1 in 7 weekend schedule. There are no call responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements:
Physician Assistant
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant by PA Board of Medicine
- Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant training program
- Minimum one-year experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred but not required
- Prior surgical or vascular surgery experience preferred but not required
Nurse Practitioner
- Valid Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license and Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania
- Certification by ANCC or other qualifying agency in area of specialty required
- Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse
- RN First Assistant (RNFA) certification
- Minimum one-year experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred but not required
- Prior surgical or vascular surgery experience preferred but not required
