What will you be doing in this role?Reporting to the Security Associate Director, the Assistant Manager, Security Command Center will be responsible for the performance of the 24/7 Security Command Centers, including its operational activities and management of Team Leads and all Command Center staff.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:- Responsible for daily operations and management of all Command Center Operator staff.
- Supervises and provides resolution of escalations by providing advice and guidance on more complex situations. Determines necessity of escalation within or outside the command center to resolve.
- Supervises staff to meet requirements for current project and call volume load. Forecasts future workloads to ensure that adequate staffing levels are available. This includes forecasting peak load work times and appropriate vacation/educational training requirements. Takes proactive measures when service levels are trending unfavorably or are missed.
- Maintains appropriate staffing requirements and responsible for hiring, transfers, promotions, terminations, merit adjustments, overtime, disciplinary actions, time off, and other administrative functions. Proposes solutions to short-term staffing needs to leadership. Manages discipline and performance evaluations for all Command Center Operator staff.
- Provides coaching and guidance to improve staff performance and capabilities; and identifies training needs and recommends options. May also develop staff in technical and soft skills.
- Regularly meets with Command Center Operator Leads, Command Center Operators and Supervisors at shift change to provide departmental or community security updates, guidance and to address any questions or concerns.
- Proactively identifies areas of improvement and propose improved ways of working with the Security Leadership team
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED - Required
Experience:
- Minimum three (3) years of security or former law enforcement dispatch experience - Required
- Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience - Required
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Computer proficiency is a requirement.
License/Certifications:
- POST Public Safety Dispatcher Basic Course - Preferred
