Position Summary
This position, in coordination with The SPOT Medical Director and Senior Manager Social Services Programs, will lead the design, implementation, and oversight of The SPOT youth center’s behavioral health and social service programming as part of an integrated multidisciplinary care/medical home model. Key responsibilities include recruiting, training, and supervising staff, fostering cross-team collaboration, and managing grants and budgets. The role requires building and maintaining partnerships with community organizations, schools, and healthcare providers to enhance service awareness and support. This position is a member of the Senior Leadership team for Project ARK/The SPOT. The Manager Social Services Programs will collaborate with data management personnel to assess program effectiveness and make data-driven improvements. Advocacy for youth, incorporating their voices into program planning, and ensuring compliance with best practices and standards are essential aspects of this position. This role is integral to delivering high-quality, cohesive services that meet the evolving needs of the youth served by the center.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Program development:
- Design and implement services that integrate youth behavioral health and medical services, aimed at prevention and wellness. Current programs within The SPOT include COACH, School-based Health Services, Drop-in, Case Management, Counseling, and Psychiatry services and others.
Staff Support and Cross-Team Collaboration:
- Recruit, train, and supervise a skilled team of behavioral health/case management staff to deliver high-quality care.
- Implement opportunities for cross-team collaboration and communication, such as scheduled meetings, trainings, feedback mechanisms, and strategic planning initiatives to ensure cohesive service delivery and address cross-team challenges efficiently.
Grants Management:
- Oversee all aspects of grants management, including preparation, submission, and monitoring of budgets, reports, and funding requests.
- Collaborate with the Senior Grants Specialist and Senior Program Manager/Program Director to manage expenditures and staff sourcing.
- Maintain communication with funders by attending meetings and managing correspondence, identifying and securing additional funding aligned with The SPOT's mission.
Community Outreach and Partnerships:
- Develop and sustain strategic partnerships with youth-serving community organizations, schools, and healthcare providers, enhancing community awareness and support for The SPOT's services.
Monitor program data and outcomes:
- Work closely with Data/Quality Improvement Manager and Senior Program Manager to continuously assess, improve, and monitor program effectiveness using data-driven approaches. Adjust programs to meet goals and objectives outlined by funders, making informed programmatic decisions. Ensure staff are informed of measurable objectives and provide ongoing updates on achievement of goals.
Advocacy:
- Act as a leading advocate for adolescents and young adults through strategic community partnerships. Lead efforts to incorporate youth voices in program planning and implementation, ensuring the services reflect their needs and preferences.
Evidence-based and Compliance Programming:
- Ensure all programs and services adhere to best practices and evidence-based models. Maintain compliance with Department of Pediatrics, WashU, and funder policies to provide high-quality and impactful services.
Senior Management Leadership:
- This position will have an active role in The SPOT/Project ARK leadership and strategic planning meetings including monthly ARK Senior Leadership meetings, SPOT Medical/Program Director meetings, and ARK/SPOT Strategic planning meetings.

Salary Range
$68,100.00 - $105,500.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
