The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Research Integrative Therapist to work alongside the integrative team at the Integrative Therapies Program (ITP) at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center. The Research Integrative Therapist (RIT) will provide integrative services to children, adolescents, and adults with cancer in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Attending medical and integrative rounds, chart documentation, and working within the medical team will be a daily component of the position. The Research Integrative Therapist (RIT) will also collaborate on research projects as it relates to integrative medicine, which may include the responsibility of data collection for ongoing studies, and delivery of services for study protocols. The Research Integrative Therapist (RIT) may be involved with the preparation of scientific manuscripts and educational lectures.

Responsibilities
- Provide integrative services to children, adolescents, and adults with cancer in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
- Attending medical and integrative rounds, chart documentation, and working within the medical team will be a daily component of the position.
- Collaborate on research projects as it relates to integrative medicine, which may include the responsibility of data collection for ongoing studies, and delivery of services for study protocols.
- May be involved with the preparation of scientific manuscripts.
- Provision of integrative services (e.g., acupuncture, acupressure, aromatherapy, massage, and yoga) to patients undergoing treatment for cancer and their families as well as to patients off-therapy.
- Adhere to the standards operating procedures set forth by ITP.
- Report on weekly stats as per the reporting policies set forth by ITP.
- Maintain daily documentation of patient encounters and charting.
- Participate in research activities, including but not limited to, consenting and tracking of patients for ITP open clinical trials.
- Contribute information, participate in media and video filming, and employee wellness program as part of ITP’s Healthy Monday Campaign.
- Participate in preparation and presentation of educational lectures.
- Administrative/Clerical duties as required.
- Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience required; plus, three years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
- Hospital-based experience and a research background, preferred.
- Holds dual license or certificate in several integrative therapies including acupuncture, massage, or yoga, preferred.
- Minimum 4-year degree, Master’s level education preferred or Master of Science in Acupuncture (MSAc)
Other Requirements
- Licensed acupuncturist or massage therapist in the state of New York and Diplomat in Acupuncture or Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
- Malpractice insurance.
