Overview
The Department of Pathology at Montefiore Medical Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive medical center laboratories on the East Coast. We are seeking applicants for two full-time Academic Surgical Pathologist positions at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor level to join a staff of 25 Surgical Pathologists.
Responsibilities
The candidates should have subspecialty fellowship training in GI/Liver Pathology. The Division of Surgical Pathology practices a “hybrid” model of subspecialty sign-out which allows for a combination of 2 or more subspecialties. The Department receives approximately 66,000 surgical pathology specimens/year.
Requirements
Candidates should possess solid diagnostic skills, enthusiasm for teaching and strong communication abilities; responsibilities for both positions include clinical services in surgical pathology, interactions with clinicians and multidisciplinary patient care teams, involvement in the residency training program and medical student education and other activities. Collaborative and translational research opportunities are available and encouraged.
