Job Description:
Performs outpatient mammography screening on a mobile vehicle. Provides a welcoming, timely and high-quality patient experience through patient check-in, education, mammography examination, and responses to patient questions and concerns. Operates mobile mammography vehicle in accordance with driving laws and company policy. Completes equipment quality control testing and ensures adequate inventory of supplies. As part of a mobile team, this position works with a high level of autonomy.
Principle Responsibilities
- Administrative and clinical support.
- Provides reception and patient check-in, may include scheduling and rescheduling.
- Reviews patient consent forms and enters scheduling documentation into the electronic medical record using Excellian.
- Understands the Enterprise Medical Imaging/Picture Archiving and Communication System.
- Stocks medical and radiological supplies.
- Communicates with supervisor and team by reporting problems and issues and provides assistance, ideas, and information to support the work of others.
- Performs examinations with high degree of accuracy and clerical function.
- Follows physician orders, regulatory requirements, and department guidelines.
- Identifies patients with two identifiers when rooming patients.
- Documents all needed aspects of the procedure and gathers relevant information to assist with interpretation of images.
- Maintains a safe patient environment by observing and communicating with the patient and responding to their needs.
- Verifies all imaging has appropriately transferred to imaging storage and retrieval system.
- Provides transportation of mammography vehicle between storage facility and examination site.
- Operates vehicle in accordance with driving laws and company policy.
- Reports safety, potential safety hazards, and maintenance requests.
- Cleans and disinfects vehicle.
- Refuels vehicle following company guidelines, saving receipts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Vocational or Technical Training graduate of accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- 2+ years as certified Mammography Technologist
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years as certified Mammography Technologist
Licenses/Certifications
- Registered Technologist – The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required current Mammography registered or willing to obtain within 1 year of hire
- Valid Minnesota Driver’s License required upon hire
- Valid Commercial Driver License (Class B or A; Must have Air Brake Endorsement) required within 60 days of employment or by 12/1/25, whichever is later for those hired in 2025
- Valid Commercial Driver Medical Certification required within 60 days of employment
- Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
◦ Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
◦ Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross
◦ Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
Physical Demands
- Medium Work*:
- Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently
Pay Range
Pay Range: $39.19 to $53.72 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
