Under direct supervision of a pharmacist and in accordance with specific and detailed instructions assists in the packaging, manufacturing, distribution of drugs and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Performs various non-judgmental functions in all areas of the department including ambulatory and inpatient drug distribution, sterile product preparation, manufacturing and packaging as well as provision of ambulatory services.
- Responsible for the procurement of inventory and inventory control.
- Performs other related duties and utilizes automated and computerized technology as required.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program or equivalent on the job training.
- PTCB certification.
- NYS Pharmacy Technician license and registration.
- Experience in retail pharmacy is preferred.
- This position requires knowledge of pharmaceuticals and inventory control practice and procedures.
- Excellent communications, customer service and interpersonal business skills.
- This position requires PC, Windows, and other business or pharmacy computer system literacy.
