Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Driver/Messenger
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Driver/Messenger to support the timely and secure transport of materials, specimens, medications, and supplies across MSK locations. This role plays a critical part in supporting patient care, clinical operations, and regulatory compliance.

Role Overview:
- Retrieve and return MSK vehicles to and from designated locations at the start and end of scheduled shifts.
- Conduct detailed pre-trip vehicle inspections, including checking engine sounds, fuel levels, fluids, lights, signals, and overall cleanliness to ensure safe operation.
- Adhere to all transportation rules, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, completing and signing required documentation such as chain of custody and bills of lading.
- Provide efficient internal delivery of time-sensitive items, including pharmacy items, chemotherapy medications, medical supplies, materials, specimens, and blood samples.
- Retrieve items from staging areas and deliver them to designated locations across MSK facilities.
- Complete scheduled delivery and collection rounds throughout the shift, stopping at all designated pick-up locations and accurately completing specimen logs.
- Perform foot messenger duties to nearby buildings when required, including during inclement weather.
- Maintain accurate departmental and regulatory documentation for all transport activities.
- Provide coverage in assigned areas as advised by departmental leadership.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and operating condition, including routine washing and refueling.
- Monitor vehicle performance and promptly report any unusual sounds or mechanical issues to the Lead Supervisor.
- Maintain assigned vehicle operation schedules and, when applicable, manage purchases using an MSK Corporate Credit Card and record transactions in the e-commerce system.
Key Qualifications:
- Less than 2 years of related driving or messenger experience preferred.
- Prior experience driving for a major company or organization strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and dedication to safety and service excellence.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and align with regulatory requirements.
- Comfortable working independently while supporting team-based operations.
Core Skills:
- Basic familiarity with email and internet navigation.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle time-sensitive tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Physically able to perform job duties, including walking, standing, and lifting as required.
Additional Information:
- Location: 530 E 74th St, New York, NY 10021
- Schedule: Evening shifts with weekends as needed. Hours between 12p to 12 am. 37.5 hours per week. Needs to be adaptable.
