Description
The Manager, Hospitality Environment reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsible for day-to-day management of Environmental Services, Valet Services, and Linen Distribution staff, and related support functions, as appropriate to adequately address the Environmental needs of the hospital and its various properties and outbuildings.
Responsibilities:
- Stays informed of current and emerging issues and trends for areas of accountability, NM organization and healthcare industry. Communicates and educates staff on requirements, changes, advances, opportunities, directions and projections for the future.
- Thinks and acts in ways that support NM strategy, vision and Mission. Identifies opportunities for new business growth and development, expansion of current services, etc.
- Practices fiscal accountability. Encourages staff and team accountability by involving them in budget preparation, identifying ideas for increasing efficiency, cost savings, developing and growing the business and existing services.
- Measures and monitors budget and business development plans; provides ongoing updates to staff.
- Achieves or exceeds budget and business growth and profitability targets.
- Manages all duties performed by EVS and Linen staff to ensure compliance with daily requirements, policies and procedures
- Assures that schedules are adhered to quality expectations are measured and met by the EVS and laundry staff
- Evaluates work of EVS and Linen personnel utilizing ' Perform ' process and develop action plans for areas of improvement
- Implements program and schedule changes as appropriate, including developing, monitoring and implementing new initiatives
- Coordinates and facilitates regularly scheduled Linen deliveries of hospital and off-sites
- Assures that 'standard precautions' and isolation guidelines are in conjunction with CDC and Joint Commission standards are adhered to in the maintenance of the environment of care
- Maintains accurate records of Linen distribution and usage. Logging all data in the Linen Management Program
- Maintains computerized linen system: Performs uploads and downloads weekly, updates information, generates and distributes reports
- Oversees and manages the relationship with third party vendors providing support in the areas of EVS, Linen, and valet services on the hospital campus to ensure a robust and high performing program within the confines of budget targets and regulatory standards
- Partners with clinical leaders to help advance our Patient’s First mission and provide top decile service to the patients and hospital staff
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience including 2 years of leadership experience.
- Bachelor's in a related field; in lieu of Bachelor’s, must have 7-10 years of experience including 2 years of leadership experience.
- Technical proficiency and strong computer skills across on array of software including Excel and data analytics.
- Ability to communicate both verbal and written effectively; ability to write business letters, summaries and reports using prescribed format; ability to work with mathematical concepts and ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
