Patient Services Specialist

Role Summary:

As the Patient Services Specialist, youare responsible forproviding administrative andgeneral supportto staff,patientsand Physicians to ensure that a high quality, professional and efficient administration service is consistently provided to patients. This role is a crucial link betweenourpatient’s and clinical teams.

Your key responsibilities:

AsPatientServices Specialist,you will ensureahigh levelof patient service is provided includinganticipatingneeds,maintainingpatient serviceexpectations,and reacting to feedback.You are expected tomaintaina professional service which meets patient needs.

Customer Service

Monitoring and reacting to patientfeedback

Monitoring the flow of patients and directing as appropriate

Answeringand attending toall telephone callsin a timely manner

Responding to queriesin accordance withthe privacy policy

Having a breadth of service knowledge to respond to patientqueries

Providing support to Physicians and other internal customers, asrequired

Assistwith patient questionsregardingbilling and insurancepayments

Maintenanceandimprovement of the patients’ waitingroom

Maintaining the look and feel of both patient and employee-facing spaces, restocking supplies, andorganization

Dealing with people traffic, by directing vendorsand visitorsas they comeandensuring compliance to sign inprotocols

Maintaining the Integrity of Patient Records

SchedulingPhysicianappointmentswith regard toavailability & appropriatetimeframes

Undertaking all actions to support aPhysiciansclinic visit, including ensuring the completeness of patient records prior to andsubsequent tothevisit

Admittingand discharging patients, prior to and following,consultation,evaluationandfollow-up appointments

Registering new patientsin a timely mannerand ensuring the accuracy of personal and billing details

Ensuring all documentation and correspondencerequiredfor theconsultationsappointment isregistered

Creating referring doctor records asrequired

Following up on referrals

Documentmanagement

Qualifications

High School Diplomaor equivalent

Demonstrated ability in an administrative role within a busy, customer focused environment, medical preferred.

Handle and resolve urgent matters and time critical medicalappointments

Strong organization and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.

Proven experience to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Knowledge of patient billing systems and related funding mechanisms.

Ability to use clinical administration systems, as well as Microsoft Officesoftware

Collaborative approach in working with the wideradministration team and other internal customers, in line with the organizationvalues.
