The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

Assess, recognize, and address the psychological and physical needs of patients with sensitivity and expertise
Provide holistic, patient-centered care that prioritizes quality of life and honors individual preferences
Communicate with warmth and empathy, offering reassurance and guidance to patients and loved ones
Collaborate on individualized treatment plans, ensuring care aligns with each person’s unique journey
Maintain accuracy and integrity in evaluation, treatment, and documentation practices
Support and oversee care provided by LPNs and CNAs, fostering a compassionate team environment
Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions, contributing valuable insights to optimize patient comfort and well-being
Uphold hospital, regulatory, and professional standards, ensuring ethical and effective care delivery

Minimum Qualifications:
Current RN License in state of practice.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date.
Must complete a BSN degree within four (4) years from the Registered Nurses date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Previous experience in an Acute Care, Home Health, or Hospice setting
Physical Requirements:
Attentive patient assessment and care, utilizing keen observation skills to read information, labels, and monitor patient needs, ensuring appropriate interventions and equipment use
Clear and compassionate communication, engaging with patients, families, and care team members to provide reassurance, guidance, and rapid responses—especially in critical moments
Skilled hands-on care, using dexterity and precision to operate complex equipment, document patient care, prepare medications, and navigate digital systems effectively
Physical capability and strength, assisting in patient transfers, lifting and carrying supplies, and maneuvering essential equipment, ensuring safety and comfort for those in your care
Active mobility, walking, transporting patients, and retrieving supplies, often working in dynamic environments where adaptability and responsiveness are key
Resilience and endurance, standing for extended periods while maintaining focus, patience, and unwavering support for patients in their most vulnerable moments
