The dedicated care team of specialists works to advance the field and improve the quality of care for patients dealing with these unique challenges. The internationally recognized IBD specialists at Cedars-Sinai are dedicated to providing outstanding, patient-centered care including for the management of IBD, and are engaged in groundbreaking research to help cure these diseases.
Summary of Essential Duties:
As an Endoscopy Nurse, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care given to GI patients. You will plan and deliver safe, effective nursing care until the patient is transferred to recovery. You will perform circulating and/or scrub duties for patients.
Instrument and equipment set-up
Circulate and coordinate the procedure room during the case
Facilitate effective and efficient progress between procedures
Assess, plan, diagnose and evaluate patient care while managing and administering moderate sedation
Responsible for providing a safe, efficient, and caring environment, one in which the Endoscopy team can function and in which the outcome for the patient is as positive as possible
Manage and oversee equipment, instrumentation and supplies of this specialty service, provides patient education and support to the other GI staff, assist GI physicians with procedures
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
BSN preferred
Current, unrestricted California RN license required
ACLS and PALS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
CGRN, CCRN or CPAN certification preferred
A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in GI Lab Procedures or Critical Care required
Moderate Sedation administration experience preferred
