As a CDCES, a professional practitioner, you will assume responsibility for coordination of the hospital-wide Diabetes Management Program.
- You will develop, deliver, evaluate and conduct diabetes management activities and education to hospital staff, patients and family members including diabetes medications, insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors and other education needs.
- You will lead an outcome-based approach to patient care by insuring evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary care delivery. Identifies safety concerns, and collaborates with all members of the healthcare team to institute measures to ensure a safe and timely discharge.
Educational Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
BSN required; MSN preferred.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
Current California State RN License required.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
Certified Diabetes Educator certification (CDCES).
Experience:
Minimum 3 years recent acute RN experience.
Two (2) years experience in diabetes/endocrinology preferred.
Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice.
Demonstrated dedication to customer service and ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.
