The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
Columbia Health Medical Services seeks self-motivated Registered Nurse with superior triage and clinical assessment skills. Join our multidisciplinary staff of dedicated college health professionals and play a critical role in providing comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care to our diverse student population. Demonstrates clinical judgment and skills in the full range of functions of a Registered Professional Nurse. Identifies, assesses (including physical assessment) and provides nursing treatment for actual or potential health problems.
This is an essential onsite position.
Responsibilities

Triages patients’ complaints using critical assessment skills to include crisis intervention, acute and chronic medical problems for a wide range of health-related concerns; performs telephone triage on Nurse Clinical Symptom Lines.

Refers patients for further clinical evaluation and follow-up, either immediate care or future appointment using a computerized system.

Administration of vaccines, medications, allergy shots, ear irrigations, urgent care nursing, pregnancy screening, women’s health counseling to including Plan B.

Formulates and implements nursing projects and guidelines such as reviewing and updating policies and procedures. Participates in inter-disciplinary committees, programs, and community outreach.

Coordinates care for patients with women’s health, men’s health, and a variety of other health issues.

The Registered Nurse will be available in a designated practice group to serve as a resource to the team for educational needs and delivery of nursing care.

Administers appropriate medications and treatments as prescribed by on-site providers.

Engages in periodic self-evaluation and participates in Peer Review and Quality Assurance.

Provides health education for acute and chronic medical conditions in a self-care model as well as wellness prevention model to patients and the University community.
Minimum Qualifications

Requires Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and current New York State RN license.

Minimum 2-4 years related experience required.

Must possess strong clinical assessment and triage skills with proven clinical judgment and skills in the full range of functions of a Registered Nurse.

Demonstrated ability to maintain and promote interpersonal relationships and work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team.

Completion of current CPR and infection control certificate.

Required to work a minimum of 3-5 Saturdays during the Spring/Fall Term.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ambulatory care, ER, public health or occupational health nursing experience.
- Proficiency in Bengali, Cantonese, French, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese and other languages is a plus.
