ResponsibilitiesLeads cross functional teams and provides consultative support on complex logistics issues across Mayo Clinic. Responsible for overall management and performance of the operations, direct customer relations, information technology input, quality, and security. The Logistics Manager is accountable for achieving Mayo Clinic objectives, productivity standards, and cost control goals. Manages high level analytical and technical information to plan and execute supply chain management best practices utilizing LEAN Six Sigma principles. Responsible for effective human resource management. The manager will create and maintain an efficient, cost-effective program. Included but not limited to inventory control, shipping, storage, receiving, distribution, transportation, warehousing, and data/information management. Additionally, the manager will support product standardization initiatives and Mayo Clinic objectives to reduce costs, to achieve operational efficiency, and to ensure clinical availability of supplies.
Contract & Relationship Management
- Ensure the 3PL provider is meeting performance metrics, service-level agreements (SLAs), and cost expectations
- Negotiate contract terms, renewals, and improvements in logistics services
- Act as the liaison between our organization and the 3PL to resolve issues and align goals
On-Site Operational Oversight
- Monitor daily warehouse activities to ensure efficient receiving, picking, packing, and shipping
- Coordinate with inventory management to maintain accurate stock levels
- Troubleshoot operational problems and streamline workflows on the floor
Performance & Process Optimization
- Analyze KPIs such as order accuracy, fulfillment speed, and transportation costs
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with both internal teams and the 3PL
- Support technology upgrades like WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
Team Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with supply chain, procurement, and customer service teams
- Provide feedback and training to warehouse staff as needed
- Represent warehouse concerns in larger operational strategy meetings

QualificationsBachelor's degree in supply chain management, business or related field with a minimum of eight (8) years' in a progressively more responsible role with specific experience in supply chain logistics, which includes three years' previous lead, project lead or supervisor experience; Or, Master's in Business Administration, Health Science, or related discipline with a minimum of five (5) years' in a progressively more responsible role with specific experience in supply chain logistics, which includes one (1) year previous lead, project lead or supervisor experience. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
Computer competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) required.
Knowledge and use of materials management software (Lawson and/or Manhattan Associates experience considered a plus) required. Health care experience desired. Relevant professional certification preferred (CMRP, LEAN Six Sigma, APICS)
