Position Description:
The Neuroscience and Spine Associates, Lancaster General Health is seeking a full-time PA or CRNP to join its high-end Neuroscience practice. We are a practice of seven Neurosurgeons, including two endovascular, and nine Advanced Practice Providers with expertise in conditions such as stroke, aneurysm, brain tumors, herniated discs, cervical and lumbar degenerative disc disease, scoliosis and complex spinal injuries to procedures such as Kyphoplasty, VP shunts, craniotomies/craniectomies, spinal cord stimulators, cervical and lumbar laminectomies and fusions to complex spine cases to address scoliosis and traumatic injuries as well as endovascular procedures. Neuroscience and Spine Associates performs surgery at Lancaster General Hospital and offers office appointments in multiple locations to better care for our patients. Our providers have access to collaborate with various specialists in the area as well as Penn Medicine and The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Department of Neurosurgery providers and programs.
This position will provide you an opportunity to work within a team of supportive advanced practitioners and physicians. This position includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities with some OR and call as detailed below. When in clinic you will have your own panel of patients that you will see with an appropriate level of autonomy. When in the hospital you will care for surgical and nonsurgical patients with various pathologies. You will also be involved with perioperative care of surgical patients with the potential for first assist as well.
We are excited to teach the neurological exam and help to develop expertise in diagnosis and management of a wide variety of neurological conditions to allow you function autonomously. We are looking for motivated candidates that seek a position where they are part of a supportive team that cares for patients with a wide variety of pathologies and are passionate about patient care. Hours: Full-time hours primarily four 10-hour shifts per week Monday-Friday. These are 7am-5pm with rotating 9am-7pm every other week. We take call, generally, every other week and weekends are on a rotating basis. This is subject to change with coverage needs. On-call responsibilities include office calls and after-hour surgeries with rounding responsibilities while on weekend call.
Minimum Requirements:
Physician Assistant
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant by PA Board of Medicine.
- Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant training program.
- Minimum one year experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred.
Nurse Practitioner
- Valid Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license and Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania
- Certification by ANCC or other qualifying agency in area of specialty required (Acute Care required)
- RN First Assistant (RNFA) certification
- Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum one year experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred
