Position Summary
Position works either remotely or in an area with no patient contact and provides secretarial support and office services related to routine business, administrative and patient care.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Secretarial and Office Support
Prepares routine documents, such as correspondence, calendars and presentations.
Arranges and attends meetings, keeps minutes and distributes to appropriate staff.
Processes and tracks expense reimbursement for supported staff.
Maintains memberships, societies, licensures and curriculum vitae.
Maintains physician calendars and acts as key contact for appointment requests.
Downloads dictations from digital recording equipment for transcription.
Provides photocopy and fax services, sorts and distributes mail.
Patient Care Support
Schedules patient appointments, answers patient inquiries, routes patient calls and maintains patient record.
Serves as a liaison between patients, physicians and staff.
Coordinates with physician(s) and fellows to maintain in-patient rounding and consultation lists.
Reschedules patient appointments from clinic that have been altered or closed.
Gathers medical records from referring physicians and hospitals for new patient visits.
Scans new patient records into office scanning device(s).
Processes/files documents, as needed.
Other Functions
Maintains office supplies.
Assists students, residents and visitors with orientation and events.
Serves as back-up for other job functions within the team during peak times, vacation and illnesses.
Maintains required skills/competencies and participates in in-services, staff programs, continuing education and cross training programs according to established department standards.
Complies with HIPAA, OSHA, state and federal regulatory sources/standards.
Participates in quality improvement activities to ensure appropriate clinical outcomes.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range
$17.03 - $24.61 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
