Join Our Team as a Telemetry Transporter at Penn Medicine! This is a part-time, night shift opportunity.
Are you passionate about patient care and looking for a dynamic role in a leading healthcare institution? Penn Medicine is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Telemetry Transporters. In this vital role, you'll ensure the safe and efficient transportation of patients, lab specimens, and blood products throughout our hospital complex.
Responsibilities:
- Provide safe and timely transportation of patients, specimens, and pharmaceuticals throughout the institution.
- When appropriate and requested by Nursing personnel the telemetry transporter will monitor the patient’s vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure), respiratory rate, lung sounds, pulse oximetry, and ECG tracings via a portable cardiac monitor.
- Assist Hospital personnel with movement of patients as needed for transportation.
- Assist with patient movement when transferring patients from bed to wheelchair or stretcher
- Meet department goal response time and travel time – Work quickly and efficiently to meet department response time goal (trip assignment – trip start) and travel time (trip start – trip completion) utilizing the Epic Rover Transport System.
- Exemplifies excellent hospitality towards patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers as outlined in the Service Excellence Standards.
- Lifting, walking, pushing, and pulling 100-200 pounds and demonstrating an appropriate range of motion
- Assist in training new employees
- Acting as a good steward of the department and hospital’s equipment.
Credentials:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS):Required certification through the American Heart Association, with ongoing maintenance and annual competency reviews.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT):Required certification, with ongoing maintenance and annual competency reviews.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
