Location: Women and Babies Hospital Lancaster, PA
Position Summary: Oversees development and implementation of business, marketing and operating plans for service lines. Accountable for financial performance, quality improvement and continuous improvement to meet targeted medical, clinical and operating outcomes.

- Develops and maintains plans for delivering women and pediatric services and clinical operations across the health system.
- Assumes responsibility for strategic planning and budgeting, clinical portfolio growth, market share growth in women and children’s programming, marketing and other administrative initiatives.
- Creates service line standards, protocols, measurements of success and other support systems that foster the provision of Lancaster General Health recognized women and children’s services across the health system.
- Collaborates with Operational Leaders to maintain an environment committed to the highest standard of quality care, patient safety and experience by identifying and implementing innovative approaches to improving care
- Oversees a diverse array of administrative functions, including special projects, day to day operations and the implementation of key strategic operational initiatives. Develops standard tools and approaches for service line oversight, structure and performance measurement aligned with other service lines as directed by the Service Line Executive.
- Evaluates the performances of various functions, departments, services and products in the service line against approved objectives and plans. Works collaboratively with Operational Leadership to take appropriate corrective action as required.
- Serves as business advisor to LG Health Senior Leadership regarding trends, issues and activities relevant to service line development and performance.
- Oversees the financial performance promoting cost-effective and quality healthcare services and managing the effective utilization of resources consistent with population health management strategies. Facilitates through collaboration with Executive and Medical Directors all capital expenditure requests, operating budgets and makes recommendations for approval.
- Provides leadership and serves as point person for the health system of joint ventures, affiliations and partnerships that will support of advance the service line.
- Directly responsible for the operations of Women and Babies Hospital WBH and demonstrates an ability to operate the business unit independently and exhibit expertise in managing an inpatient facility. Participate in hospital operations committees. Works collaboratively with nursing and other operational departments delivering service at Women’s locations to assure that team functions collaboratively and delivers on operational and service line expectations.
- Works in close partnership with the Medical Leaders of the Women’s Service Line and the leadership team of Women and Babies Hospital and with the administrators physician leaders of the other various clinical departments medicine, surgery, radiology, etc. to facilitate timely and appropriate decisions regarding the service line and Women’s Service’s Operations.
- Assumes responsibility for fiscal planning and budgeting, clinical portfolio growth, growth of the Women’s programs, marketing, development, and other administrative initiatives, including developing and implementing measurement systems for service standards.
- Facilitates with the service line teams customer experience activities demonstrating effective use of customer relations management methodologies and a strong understanding of customer trends and preferences.
The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:
- Along with other LG Health Senior Leaders, represents LG Health in the community, promoting services and capabilities.
- Assists executive leadership in building an organizational culture that is consistent with organizational values and Penn behavior standards. Takes accountability for the culture within the service delivery areas for Women’s Services promoting employee engagement, LEAN management and patient experience standards.
- Provide leadership and serves as a point person for the health system of joint ventures, affiliations and partnerships that will support or advance the service line.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field.
- Ten 10 years experience in service line management of hospital operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five 5 to Seven 7 years of increasingly responsible experience in the operational functions of a health system.
- Experience in business development, marketing, access development.
- Demonstrated track record of success in leading managing a complex hospital function or clinical practice.
