The Surgical Oncology and Hepatobiliary Advanced Practice Providers are integral to the Samuel Oschin Cancer Center. Our practice involves evaluating, treating, and monitoring a variety of cancer diagnoses or potential cancer diagnoses, in addition to benign diseases of the liver and pancreas. Summary of Essential Duties:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver flawless care to patients in the Cancer Center.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic test interpretations.
- Develop personalized treatment plans and effectively communicate them to patients and their families.
- Monitor patients' progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction.
- Actively participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives to advance patient outcomes.
- Provide patient education on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required.
- MSN required.
License/Certification:
- Current, unrestricted State of California Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner and Furnishing License required
- National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner required.
- Current DEA license.
- BLS Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification preferred
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner. Oncology experience, Surgical Oncology Experience, or GI oncology experience preferred.
