Position Overview
SUMMARY
Performs on-screen post-processing of computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data in a variety of dimensions to create images that assist with exam interpretation. Manages the transfer of image data to and from the 3D imaging platforms in an accurate and timely manner and manipulates digital medical images in multiple planes and dimensions for clinical visualization and analysis of diagnostic studies. Keeps abreast of all new 3D rendering techniques, computer programs, and software systems. Serves as a central coordinator for troubleshooting issues involving exam routing and interpretation completions in PACS.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology. New Jersey Radiology Technologist License. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration. Advanced ARRT registry in CT or MRI
Experience: Three years of experience as a CT or MRI technologist required with a strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy. Experience with 3D or multiplanar reformatting required.
Other Credentials: AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider,Diagnostic Radiography License
Knowledge and Skills: Excellent interpersonal interaction. Well-developed oral, written, and presentation and communication skills. Good documentation skills.
Special Training: Proficient computer skills. Experience with 3D and multiplanar reformatting required. Fundamental understanding of physics, 3D modeling software, geometry, and operating systems preferred

ESSENTIAL fUNCTIONS
• Performs multiple functions of 3D post-processing of CT and MRI data in a variety of planes and dimensions to create images that assist with exam interpretation. Enters necessary data into RIS, PACS, and any related 3D imaging software. • Proficiently operates dedicated post-processing software to achieve high quality on screen images through set protocols. • Diagnoses problems with 3D imaging software and reports issues and downtime to the IT Helpdesk and Radiology Informatics teams. Recognizes scan artifacts and abnormal anatomy and pathology in 3D images. Possesses experience in cross-sectional anatomy. • Functions independently and competently in stressful situations. Works cooperatively within the organization, with co-workers, and multi-disciplinary team members, including physicians and Patient Care Services team members. Possesses effective time management skills to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. • Serves as the central coordinator for Capital Health Imaging department to ensure load balancing, timely turnaround times for professional reads, and monitoring of radiologist worklist. Fields inbound calls and communications for study irregularities. Monitors and resolves incomplete studies and makes sure that images are transitioning to secondary destinations. • Assists radiologists with the functions of the 3D lab to include manipulation of digital CT and MRI medical images on highly sophisticated 3D workstations in multiple planes and dimensions for clinical visualization and quantitative analysis of diagnostic and interventional studies. • Manages transfer of image data to and from the 3D lab workstations in an accurate and timely manner. Produces 3D volumetric images for physician review utilizing appropriate software applications. • Enhances operations by identifying problems and evaluating existing business processes to optimize performance. Meets best practice standards and enhances the quality standards to ensure timely reporting. • Performs other duties as assigned.
