Overview
The WeCARE Supervisor for Federal Disability Services (FDS) will oversee the FDS case managers to ensure that they prepare quality documentation for SSI/SSD applications.
Responsibilities
- The FDS Supervisor's role is to support and oversee all Social Security Administration (SSA) Disability applications and case management services for clients on the FDS Team Service tract to ensure that the program complies with all NYC HRA contractual requirements. This will entail developing relationships with medical and psychiatric treatment providers in New York in order to obtain necessary documentation.
- $2.5 million in annual revenue is linked to achievement of SSA Disability performance milestones.
- Understanding of the criteria to meet listing requirements which appear in the SSA Blue Book of Impairments.
- Assist in the development and facilitation of departmental trainings as well as training materials for Federal Disability Services Team.
Requirements
- Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3 years’ experience.
- Medical/behavioral health diagnoses and impact on individual's functional capacity. Requirements to qualify for Federal Disability Benefits. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Associate must have ability to assist in the development of detailed policies and procedures.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Associate must have excellent verbal and writing skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to respond to requests from many people and departments.
- The ability to focus and have strong attention to detail is mandatory.
- Knowledge of various software systems including SEAMS, EPIC, etc.
- Possess strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
