- Requirements
- Associate's degree in Health Sciences or certification in vascular technology. RVT or RVS credential.
- Three or more years non-invasive vascular diagnostics experience experience.
- Vascular testing, computer skills
- Directs day-to-day operations in vascular laboratory and staff accordingly as procedure volume dictates. Performs various vascular diagnostic testing procedures in order to provide physician with accurate, high-quality studies.
- Demonstrates a understanding of vascular diagnostics principles and theory and anatomy utilizing the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal examinations.
- Operates safely all patient testing equipment assuring patient safety at all times. Assures patient safety during transfer in and out of wheelchairs, stretchers and beds.
- Completes staffing schedules and performs time and attendance functions in ADP accurately and timely. Assigns staff as needed to cover all clinical areas in collaboration with other department supervisors. Demonstrates fiscally responsiveness in staffing and supply ordering practices. Flexes staffing down as appropriate when procedure volume decreases. Discourages the use of overtime to fill PTO requests. Performs diligent supply-chain-management techniques to prevent overstocking, mis-ordering, or wasteful use of linens and disposable supplies.
- Completes all ancillary and clerical tasks to ensure efficient and compliant hospital operations. Oversees quality within the vascular laboratory to assure compliance with established hospital and accreditation standards.
- Adheres to department policies and protocols ensuring all examinations are optimized for interpretation.
- Communicates significant findings to physician and/or nurse during patient interview, preparation and during testing procedure. Participates in Universal Protocol patient identification and time-out as appropriate.
- Logs and charges all procedures performed accurately and routes studies to the appropriate physician for interpretation in a timely manner. Notifies immediately referring physician with preliminary results upon identification of potentially critical findings or STAT examination. Retrieves patient files for all previously seen patients and combines with accurately labeled paperwork. Assists with other vascular procedures as appropriate including processing for CV PACS.
- Assures that all staff comply with established standards and reports findings to Administrative Director as appropriate. Performs quality assurance monitoring and environmental monitoring in compliance with accreditation standards. Reports significant findings to Administrative Director for follow-up.
- Maintains CV PACS system and serves as system administrator.
- Performs other duties as decided cooperatively with Administrative Director. Participates actively in committees or teams as directed. Covers cross-campus in supervisory or clinical expert role
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year medical office or hospital setting experience.
