Overview
The practice of the Physician Assistant PD shall include medical services within the education, training and experience of physician assistant that are delegated by the supervising physician. Medical services rendered by physician assistants may include, but are not limited to, obtaining patient histories and performing physical examinations; writing progress notes, procedure notes and monthly care plans, ordering and/or performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; offering counseling and education to meet patient needs; making appropriate referrals.
This position requires bi-campus coverage at Moses and Einstein campuses.
Responsibilities
Physician Assistants, in an emergency, shall be authorized to treat any medical disease and/or perform any medical and surgical procedures at the hospital for affiliates. An emergency, for these purposed, is defined as a situation in which any delay in administrating treatment would result in serious harm to the patient or an immediate threat to life of the patient and that a qualified practitioner is not immediately available.
The activities listed above may be performed in any setting authorized by the supervising physician, including but not limited to, clinics, hospitals, and other institution settings. In addition to the core skills here, the PA will request validation to perform department specific skills.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program.
- Registered as a Physician's Assistant In New York State
- NCCPA certified.
- Attend 100 hours minimum CME every 2 years to maintain NCCPA certification
- Maintain 10 hours FACT accredited CME annually
- 6 months of PA experience required
- Ability to provide bi-campus coverage
