Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time and part-time employees.
This position is responsible for the support of Montefiore Wakefield's clinical, biomedical, analytical, laboratory and scientific systems and devices. Support includes testing, basic troubleshooting, basic repair, preventive maintenance, inspection, calibration and documentation in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements and Montefiore Wakefield policies and Procedures. Most services are performed at the Wakefield Campus and surrounding area clinics and physician practices. Responsibilities
Perform monthly PM's as assigned by the manager. Respond to unscheduled service calls. Identify stat vs. routine calls and respond accordingly. Educate equipment users when a service call is determined to be a user error - not an actual equipment failure. Document all PM's and work orders in the For Rivers CMMS system. Coordinate service with outside vendors to service equipment not services by in-house bioengineering. Perform work on dialysis equipment as needed including dialysis PM's & repairs and reverse osmosis PM's and water testing.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering or Electronics is required, Bachelor degree is preferred.
- AAMI Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) is preferred.
