About the Role
At Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, every role contributes to something bigger: improving the lives of people facing cancer. As a Pharmacy Technician III, you will play an important part in ensuring patients receive medications safely, accurately, and on time.
Working alongside licensed pharmacists, you will help prepare, compound, package, label, and distribute both hazardous and non-hazardous medications. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and takes pride in supporting exceptional patient care.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
Assist pharmacists with preparing and dispensing medications for patients
Compound, package, label, and distribute medications according to established standards
Support the safe handling of both hazardous and non-hazardous pharmaceuticals
Help maintain medication inventory and ensure adequate stock levels
Assist with quality assurance and compliance activities to support patient safety
Follow all applicable federal and New York State pharmacy regulations
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Serve as a resource for pharmacy team members and perform responsibilities associated with Pharmacy Technician II and Pharmacy Assistant roles
Contribute to a collaborative team focused on delivering outstanding care and service

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
License/Certification Requirement
1. National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT from National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required.
2. Registered Pharmacy Technician with NYS Office of the Professions, State Education Department.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time pharmacy assistant or pharmacy technician experience.
NOTE:
1. Incumbents must maintain the required New York State registration and national certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) as a condition of continued employment.
2. Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have hospital experience, experience with automation dispensing cabinets, and experience specifically with Pyxis.
