Overview
The Division of Women’s Mental Health within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking a part-time academic Reproductive Psychiatrist to join our Perinatal Intensive Outpatient Program (PIOP) at our Westchester Square Campus in the Bronx.
In the fall of 2024, the Montefiore-Einstein Department of Psychiatry was designated a Behavioral Health Center of Excellence by the New York State Office of Mental Health and tasked with building a PIOP in the Bronx. The PIOP will be housed in a brand-new state-of-the-art facility with a co-located nursery. Average patient census is approximately 36.
The PIOP will have three cohorts with twelve patients per cohort. The co-located nursery census has a cap of twelve. While the PIOP will draw patients from the tri-state area, the mission of Montefiore is oriented to providing outstanding, comprehensive care to the Bronx communities with a focus on social determinants of health and social justice.

This position is a .75 FTE with a competitive salary range of $240,000-270,000 plus a generous productivity incentive. In addition, we offer LTD, STD, paid malpractice, CME with stipend, health, dental, vision, 403(b) and 457 tax shelters and much more.

Responsibilities
- The Reproductive Psychiatrist will work on a team that includes a Psychologist, two social workers, and excellent administrative staff. This position comes with leadership potential dependent on experience.
- The clinical responsibilities include outpatient clinical care of perinatal patients with moderate to severe mental illness who meet the program admission criteria.
- The PIOP team will participate in the education and training of many different learners including medical students, Psychiatry residents, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellows, Psychology Interns and Reproductive Psychology Postdocs.
Requirements
- Eligible applicants are Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
- Additional training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and/or Reproductive Psychiatry is highly encouraged but not required.
