POSITION SUMMARY: Facilitate nutrition focused programs in support of the Corporate or Community Health & Wellness Programs and activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops, presents and maintains effective nutrition education programs/projects for specified groups.
- Provides individual and group nutrition counseling and health coaching to various populations.
- Identify client stages of change and learning needs to implement culturally competent teaching strategies utilizing plain language.
- Utilize motivational interviewing and lead individuals through various stages of behavior change and goal setting.
- Facilitate food demonstrations for groups to taste and learn about healthy food options.
- Maintains and documents records relevant client information and provide program outcome reports in a timely fashion to appropriate program coordinators.
- Effectively communicate pertinent information to appropriate care team members.
- Corporate Only: Assist with coordination and delivery of a Diabetes Prevention Program 1 evening or day per week.
- Represent LG Health at events/meetings and promote messages.
- Conducts onsite corporate health screenings, including biometric measurements, blood pressure and finger stick blood screenings and educate client on screening results.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field from an accredited school2+ years Two (2) years of teaching experience. Related work as a Wellness intern will qualify in lieu of the two (2) year requirement.Current licensure in the state of Pennsylvania as a dietitian-nutritionist.Certification as a Registered Dietitian, issued by the American Dietetic Association, or registration eligible/obtaining certification within 3 months of hire date.Certification as a Diabetes Educator or current pursuit of certification.
