The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Under supervision, the Technologist is responsible for the preparation and execution of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to obtain required images for diagnosis, research and therapeutic procedures. Will routinely perform all duties assigned consistent with Department’s commitment to providing quality health care services in a compassionate and humane manner. Adheres to work standards as outlined in departmental manuals.
Responsibilities
COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY: This technologist performs diagnostic, research, and therapeutic procedures. Including assisting the Radiologist with CT guided biopsies and aspirations. Reviews all orders and documents, i.e. lab work and CT screening form. Prepares contrast as needed for each examination. Must be NYS certified for contrast media and vascular injection and deemed proficient by NYP’s radiologists. Appropriately documents all information in RIS, HIS, PACs and EMR.

- Recent relevant experience in human and animal research.
Other Requirements
Work Experience
- Minimum one year experience in Computed Tomography
Licensure/ Certifications
- New York State licensure in Radiography and certified by New York State to inject contrast media
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Radiography and Computed Tomography. Maintains continuing education credits per American Registry of Radiologic Technologists requirements.
