Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurseassiststhe Physician, as needed, to ensure the health and safety of our patients during all aspects of their care.

Whatyou’lldo:

Remaining with the Physician at all timesin the exam room unless asked to step outor sent toschedule a study.

Assistingthe doctor in all aspects of the patient'sinitialconsultation, and:

Weekly status checks

Routine follow-up examinations

Any emergency visits that are needed.

Scheduling and follow-up on all diagnostic studies that are ordered including proper documentation and obtaining Physician's signature on testresult.

Responsible foracquiringresults and documenting said results on all interim reports to the Physician and then to thechart

Charting information of patient progress on weekly status check sheets and scuts and providing copies of notes (scut) to Front Desk Receptionist

Drawing of blood for various lab tests that are sent out and following up on results of lab including obtaining Physician's signature on testresults

Attending annual OSHA/Biomedical update meetings and application in the clinical setting of the updates

Documentation of medications that the patients are currently taking, and document any new medications prescribed by our Physicians while under our care to include the name of the medication, dose and amount prescribed, Physician prescribing, instructions,dateand Nurse'sinitials

Documentation of any samples given to patient

Responsible for charting patient's vital signs, initial weight, and all follow-up weights

Verifying that the allergy sticker iscomplete

Once aware, responsible for reporting or verifying all patient problems and reporting toappropriatepersonnel

Maintain HIPAA rules and regulations as it applies to patientprivacy

Maintainlicenses

Maintain open communication with front desk, Physician, and other staff as it applies to:

Patient add-ons

Patients on treatment breaks

Changes in treatment plan

Who you are:

Hold a validstate RN license in good standing

Strong communicationskills (both written and verbal)

Professional and reliable

Good interpersonal and organizational skills

Demonstrates care and compassion in dealing withpatients

Ability to multitask and be detail-oriented

Minimum of 1 year as a Registered Nurse

Experience in oncology preferred, but notrequired
