ResponsibilitiesThe Sun Laboratory is seeking highly motivated postdocs to lead projects aimed at developing innovative gene/drug delivery systems for applications in immunotherapy and in vivo gene writing. The research will involve exploring novel non-viral delivery technologies to achieve site-specific insertion of therapeutic genes in vivo, with the goal of advancing next-generation gene editing and immunotherapy treatments for severe diseases such as cancer, infectious diseases, and genetic disorders. This project will contribute to understanding the challenges and potential solutions associated with precise gene delivery and therapeutic modulation of the immune system.

QualificationsTechnical Duties: (include any protocols)
- Develop, optimize, and analyze novel LNP formulations.
- Design and synthesize new biomaterials for drug/gene delivery.
- Design and conduct in vivo experiments to evaluate the delivery efficiency and therapeutic impact of the new delivery system.
- Perform CRISPR gene editing protocols.
- Conduct immunological assays, including flow cyttmetry, ELISA, ELISPOT, and cytokine profiling, to assess immune responses.
- Perform molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, qRT-PCR, Western blotting, and sequencing, to analyze gene expression and editing outcomes.
- Collaborate with team members to design and implement experiments, analyze data, and troubleshoot technical challenges.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, protocols, and results in accordance with lab standards.
- Supervise and mentor junior lab members, including graduate students and technicians, as required.
- Critically analyze data quality and results, and communicate findings to scientists and non-specialists.
- Write or assist in writing scientific papers and grants.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. Degree required
- Experience working in a research laboratory setting
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the ISMMS and the Sinai Postdoctoral Organizing Committee - UAW.

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
