Position Summary
We are seeking a Technician B to assist with a project using human immune cells to study cell biology in the lab of Emily Mace, PhD. The successful applicant will work as part of a team of graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. Their responsibilities will include assisting with general lab duties and performing independent experiments.
Responsibilities
- Performs and analyses cell biology and molecular biology experiments.
- Cell culture of mammalian cell lines.
- Prepares, performs, and analyzes confocal microscopy experiments.
- Performs basic biochemistry experiments including Western blots, immunoprecipitations, and cell fractionations.
- Performs and analyzes flow cytometry experiments and cell sorting
- Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program or equivalent in education, training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques preferred.
- Experience with light microscopy data acquisition and image analysis.
- Experience with tissue culture.
Other Requirements
- This will be a one-year position with the possibility of renewal based on funding.
