Position Description:
Penn Medicine LG Health is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Neurology team. As a provider in our fast-paced Neuroscience environment this APP will provide inpatient care for hospitalized neurology patients. The role involves initial diagnosis and acute management of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson disease, rare headache conditions, and neurologic complications of other critical conditions such as cardiac arrest, sepsis, and non-neurologic surgical procedures. Our Neurology APP team functions all over the hospital primarily as a consultant service in both emergent and non-emergent settings. This position is entirely inpatient hospital coverage for the neuroscience service line.
The Neurology APP position also allows for both incredible autonomy mixed with support from a friendly and collaborative team. Our team is excited to share our clinical expertise in diagnosis and management of a wide variety of neurological conditions to interested and motivated candidates. We have an interest and focus in elevating the level of neurologic knowledge of our patients and community; therefore, we are constantly learning as a team to deliver the highest quality care.
Hours: Fulltime (1.0 FTE); day/evening coverage. Anticipate a combination of 8 hour and 12 hour shifts. The opportunity to tailor these hours to accommodate individual preferences will be considered. Team members will rotate responsibility for holidays and weekends but with a growing team there is increasing flexibility.
Position Requirements:
Nurse Practitioner
- Valid Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license and Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania
- Certification by ANCC or other qualifying agency in area of specialty required (Acute Care NP certification required)
- Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Experience in Neurology preferred but not required
Physician Assistant
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant by PA Board of Medicine
- Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant training program
- Minimum one year experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred
- Experience in neurology is preferred but not required
