Position Overview
Minimum Hourly Rate: $18.13
Performs between-case cleaning of the operating rooms in an expedient yet detailed manner in accordance with operating room policy. Properly performs terminal cleaning of the operating rooms on a scheduled basis.
Maintains overall environment (keeps trash empty, cleans spills, removes soiled linen) on a continuous basis. Strips, waxes and buffs floors on a regular basis.
Assist nursing staff by procuring equipment needed to perform surgery such as special surgical table, video towers, etc. and returns this equipment to its proper location after use. Assist in moving OR beds, ICU beds and other specialty beds.
Perform daily re-stocking of designated supply areas including linen and fluid warmers.
Performs routine maintenance on housekeeping equipment. Operates machinery as required, including wet vacuums and automatic floor scrubbers.
Safely transports patients to and from the operating room.
Performs errands to include obtaining and delivering specimens, blood products and X-rays.
Obtains additional supplies and equipment for the nursing staff as requested.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience: No experience needed.
Other Credentials: AHA Heartsaver AED. Non-Licensed must obtain before end of orientation period
Knowledge and Skills: Ability to understand English in order to be able to follow and respond to instruction appropriately.
Usual Work Day: 8 Hours (Shift 11a-7:30p weekdays, every other weekend 3p-11:30p, includes holiday requirement)
