The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
The Department of Ophthalmology at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons seeks an optometrist to join a new, large multi-specialty medical practice in Westchester White Plains, adjacent to New York City.
We are recruiting for the following positions

Assistant Clinical Level: Optometrist
-
Associate Clinical Level: Optometrist with a minimum of 5 years post-training
In this role, you will participate in providing the highest level of care to patients in ophthalmology.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional, specialized patient care with consistently excellent outcomes, including:
- Provide comprehensive optometry, practicing full scope
- Consultation and co-management with ophthalmology and/or other health care practitioners if additional medical treatment is determined necessary.
- Provide specialty contact lens fittings and examinations including gas permeable and scleral lenses.
- Co-management of post-operative care
- Achieve and maintain high patient satisfaction scores.
- Meet or exceed productivity targets.
Additional Responsibilities (Associate Clinical Level)
- Lead initiatives to improve clinical workflows, patient outcomes, or healthcare delivery systems (e.g., practice-based improvement projects).
- Act as a liaison between clinical staff and organizational leadership, ensuring alignment of goals.
- Oversee clinical teams or programs, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Represent the department or institution in professional or public-facing roles.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree

Assistant Clinical: 0-5 years post-training

Associate Clinical: 5 or more years post-training
- Graduation from an accredited school of optometry.
- Currently licensed by the New York State.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience with fitting specialty contact lenses.
