Multimedia Designer, Internal Communications
This position involves strong experience in the MSO365/SharePoint environment, comfort with a web-heavy workload, and solid multimedia design skills for online and digital spaces.
Job Summary:
The Multimedia Designer, Internal Communications, works to translate business needs into compelling visual design solutions across a variety of platforms including web, video and print. The Designer possesses a combination of creative abilities and technical acumen.
The Multimedia Designer will:
- Conceptualize and build digital, web, and print solutions
- Produce a portfolio of web and interactive properties
- Design and produce digital and print materials
- Assist in the development of internal communication campaigns
- Works independently, but also successfully partners with team members to ensure high quality of work.
Responsibilities:
- Strategically Design Collateral: thoroughly understands the organization and provides the most appropriate and strategically designed collateral based on project scope and need.
- Project Management: manages large-and small-scale projects, serving as internal manager and/or designer for all tactics belonging to specific campaigns. Completes projects within designated timeframe and communicates appropriately regarding status and expectations.
- Client Management: maintains a thorough knowledge of the organization and strategies across the organization to effectively manage clients on behalf of the department. Maintains a high level of professionalism at all times.
- Organization and Affiliate Branding: has a firm understanding of the Penn Medicine and affiliate brands and serves as an advocate reinforcing the brand to all audiences.
- Interactive/Web Production: creates websites with a focus on optimal user experience and functionality. Creates layout, wireframes, prototypes, user interface elements, navigation tools, icons, graphics, animation, color palettes, and online content and infrastructure for web pages and applications
- Print Production: manages the print process from quoting through to completion.
- Equipment Selection and Management: responsible for helping to select and maintain the division’s equipment and software, as needed.
- Maintains required confidentiality when accessing PHI – must be HIPAA compliant.
- Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
- Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
- Education Specialization:
Graphic Design, Art Design, Marketing, or related field preferred
- 3+ years design and communications experience (Required)
- Experience in a corporate design studio, health care, or internal communications (Preferred)
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver)
- Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript- Preferred
- Strong knowledge of technology and communication platforms
- Demonstrated understanding of the relationship between content, design User Experience (UX) and technology
- Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills, and strong business acumen
- Photography and videography/video editing experience- Preferred
- Expertise in working with internal communications- Preferred
- Strong copywriting skills- Preferred
