Summary:
- Position Summary: Provides oversight to the account resolution teams and manage the collection of accounts receivable from insurance companies to meet established performance requirements.
- Qualified individuals must have the ability with or without reasonable accommodation to perform the following duties:
- Establishes and monitors productivity and quality measurements for account resolution team staff.
- Identifies account resolution trends and reports information to Manager in a timely manner. Communicates issues, productivity measurements, payor regulations, accounting issues and any other pertinent information to upper management.
- Works with payor representatives to resolve payor issues in a timely manner.
- Works with management team to support front end revenue cycle education.
- Provides monthly variance report for all accounts receivable outstanding greater than 90 days.
- Responsible for achieving established appeal success rate, net collection goals and days in AR goals set by payor.
- Evaluates current processes and procedures and makes practical suggestions recommendations for improvement or compliance.
- Communicates all LG Health and policies, values, mission and vision with clarity and completeness. Communicates effectively with all staff, management and other customers in a professional manner.
- Provides orientation, education, and training for new employees as needed. Provides and implements on-going continuing education and training for existing staff as needed. Plays an active role in the growth and development of staff.
- Develops processes, procedures and learning tools for Account Resolution staff.
- Serves as a role model for staff for all Every Time Behaviors and Values. Promotes teamwork and a positive work environment.
- In collaboration with Manager, completes annual performance evaluations for assigned staff. Coordinates coaching and or disciplinary action in accordance with LG Health and practice policies.
- In collaboration with Manager, interviews and selects candidates for vacant positions.
- Conducts routine staff meetings for assigned teams to communicate new information, procedures and trends.
- Serves as an active member of the PBS leadership team to address revenue cycle issues.
- The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:
- Assists staff with duties as required.
- Assist with other special projects as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Responsibilities:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two 2 years experience in hospital or physician billing and collections.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of physician revenue cycle process, including working with insurance companies, EOBs, CMS 1500 forms, appeals, etc.
Preferred Qualifications: - Associates degree
- Two 2 to three 3 years management experience preferably in a health care environment.
