Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, provided the employee has completed five (5) months in their current position with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension.
Associates are eligible to apply for a promotional transfer after completion of the probationary period, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; and Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Probationary period is three (3) months for full time and part time employees. Probationary period will not apply to shift changes.
Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients.
Responsibilities
- Assesses patients, develops and documents nursing care and discharge plans, and prepares and administers medications and interventions.
- Supervises nursing attendants and ancillary staff in patient care activities.
Requirements
- New York State License for Registered Professional Nurse and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State as an R.N.
- BSN Degree preferred.
- BLS/ACLS/PALS Training.
- Infection Control Training.
- Certification in specialty preferred.
- Effective English communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems.
- At least 2 years of ED RN experience is required.
ASSOCIATE REFERRAL PROGRAM
Enjoy the rewards of referring a Staff RN I/II or a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department for Einstein, Moses, CHAM, Westchester Sq and Wakefield campuses.
Qualified candidates must have an NYS RN License with an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Full time and Part time only (day, evening, and night shifts only - does not apply to per diem positions)
Referral Amount:
NYSNA bargaining unit members who successfully refer a candidate that is hired for a NYSNA position will receive $3,500.
Refer a full time Emergency Department Staff Nurse I/II and receive $2,500 Non NYSNA or NYSNA bargaining unit members who successfully refer a Registered Nurse with at least one year of ED and/or a minimum of two years of Med/Surg experience that is hired for a NYSNA position will receive $5,000.

Referral Program:
This program is only for associates who refer experienced full-time Staff RN I/II for the Emergency Department. The award will be paid in one check on a payroll day after the probationary period has been completed This Associate Referral Program is open to Montefiore Medical Center associates as outlined in HR Policy ll-4b.
How to submit a referral:
Locate a Staff Nurse I/II Emergency Department requisition (posting will indicate ARP eligible) and use the "Refer a Friend" option via the Talent Management System.
All referrals must have a current resume attached at the time of referral and will be tracked via the Talent Management System.
