Overview
The Psychiatric Technician II as member of the interdisciplinary team, plays a critical role in providing exceptional care and services to our psychiatric patients. Under the direction of the registered Nurse (RN) and/or Physician, the Psychiatric Technician II participates in crisis and de-escalation interventions, therapeutic observations, patient supervision, and other behavioral health-related duties.
Responsibilities
In this capacity, the Psychiatric Technician II, duties include the implementation of seclusion/restraints for patients deemed in need of theses interventions. Additionally, they ensure the maintenance of a safe, clean, and functional environment for patients, assist with dietary aspects of care, answer phones, transport patients, and provide support to visitors.
Requirements
- A High School diploma or G.E.D Required
- Two years of full-time experience in nursing or psychiatric/behavioral health care in a high volume, intensive care environment Required
- Certified to perform vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs and blood glucose monitoring Required
- Successful completion of an appropriate training program in the application and use of restraints and seclusion Required
- BLS certification Required
