ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides sensitive, relevant and timely pastoral care to any and all areas of the hospital as assigned or needed.
- Provide relief for duty pager as needed by department.
- Assist with after-hours duty rotation a minimum of two (2) shifts a month, inclusive on one (1) overnight. Exception being during months when there are no student programs, i.e. April, May duty shifts increase to a minimum of three (3) shifts, inclusive of two (2) overnights.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
- Bachelor and Masters Degree Preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:
- Board Certified or eligible for certification, which must be acquired within 24 months of hire, through (APC) The Association of Professional Chaplains, (NACC) The National Association of Catholic Chaplains, or (NAJC) National Association of Jewish Chaplains
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a skilled pastoral care provider with a minimum of two (2) years of hospital experience (CPE internships or residencies are applicable), preferably at a Level I Trauma Center.
- Possess the capacity to make departmental presentations regarding the provision of pastoral care in the hospital setting.
- Proven ability to work with all levels of Hospital/University personnel and all internal/external customers.
