Responsibilities
- The Federal Disability Social Work Assistant/Case Manager provides case management that is consistent with WeCARE and UBA-Montefiore policies for participants and applicants who are deemed Unable to work.
- The worker facilitates the process to apply for Federal Disability benefits according to the process described by HRA, UBA-WeCARE and the Social Security Administration.
- The staff adequately explains the process of the Disability track as well as the process of applying for benefits to the participant/applicant so that they can understand their role in the participation of the service to ensure successful completion of services.
- This position reports to the WeCARE Supervisor and Assistant Director of Disability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required. Master’s degree program in human services or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience providing direct services to people with psychosocial barriers to employment.
- Effective oral/written/interpersonal communication skills required.
- Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
- Basic computer skills required.
