Overview
Receives patients at clinic reception area. Performs general clerical duties. Under general supervision, performs chemical analysis on blood samples and blood gases of cardiac catheterization patients. Monitors EKG and pressure recordings of patients during procedures. Maintains appropriate logs related to procedures. Performs related duties.
Responsibilities
Under direct supervision of the physician and RN, prepares patients, assembles, and operates hemodynamic and electrophysiology equipment during interventional and diagnostic procedures. Continuously monitors vital signs, EKG, and pressure recordings. Analyses inter-cardiac electrogram and reports results. Performs direct and indirect patient care. Maintains appropriate documentation. Performs other duties as related to the daily operation of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Requirements
- RCIS (registered cardiovascular invasive specialist) and / or RCS (registered cardiac electrophysiology specialist) and/or IBHRE (international board of heart rhythm examiners) certification preferred at hire or within 2 years of employment.
- Licensed Clinical laboratory technologist preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- High School Diploma required.
