Description
The Cardiac Pulmonary Secretary reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Interacts with patients, their representatives, physicians, physician office staff, employers and others to gather, ensure accuracy of demographic, billing and clinical information.
- Interprets and verifies completeness of physician orders.
- Schedules, registers and discharges patient appointments for Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Interventional and Diagnostic Cardiology.
- Communicates instructions and arrival times to patient and provides patient education as needed.
- Produces and distributes required forms, documents and reports with accuracy to patients and referring offices.
- Answers, screens, and directs incoming calls while maintaining exemplary customer service skills.
- Participates in regulatory requirements, data entry and collection, productivity reports, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment. Duties may include (but not limited to): maintaining temperature logs, cleaning utility rooms, filling oxygen tanks, cleaning equipment, replacing and disposing of soiled linen.
- Assures accuracy, efficiency and cost containment and assists in developing effective office processes.
- Assists clinical staff as needed.
- Responsible for accurate charge entry and daily charge reconciliation processes.
- Orders office supplies and involved in organizing patient events.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 3 years of related work experience
- 1 to 2 years of specialized or technical training or equivalent
- Strong computer skills
